Bookfraud began in January of 2005 after its author noticed a disturbing trend in his career: despite some success in publishing non-fiction, his fiction-writing career was going nowhere. So instead of continuing to complain about such misery to his spouse ("Wife") and any other poor soul within earshot, he decided to complain online instead.
Thus, Bookfraud.
Since that fateful day, he's posted about 250 times, none of which really are any good, though some get more page views than others. Especially the one about Joshua Bell, whose sexuality continues to be a source of major curiosity by his legion of fans, and by a bunch of losers.
While he considers himself fortunate to have a literary agent, his novel has been rejected between six and 89 times; Bookfraud lost count somewhere along the way. However, he remains confident that one day, it might actually be published. Murray's Do-It-Yourself Printing Inc. and Scientology Publishing remain viable candidates.
He pledges not to write any more of the plague of bed bugs that has infested his home the last seven months, though most industry observers tend not to believe this pledge.
Bookfraud's current celebrity crushes/obsessions/marriage wreckers are Uma Thurman and Charlize Theron. In fact, this has been the case for the last five years and shows no signs of abating. Tyra Banks used to be right up there until she turned into a robot and started hosting her own talk show.
Like Thomas Pynchon but without the talent, Bookfraud craves his privacy, and does not talk about where he lives, what he does for a living, or whether he wore Old Spice or Brut on his first date, which ended in a spectacularly bad way. He will say he is happily married, and has a 3-year-old boy. Wife is also a writer, of much greater talent and success. This hasn't caused much jealousy, apparently, as Bookfraud only breaks furniture when Wife and Boy are not around.
Despite many requests, he won't post pictures of his son, though will e-mail them to you for your credit card number.
